The 10 Questions
Where are you from?
Alois is a born and bred Reiklander from the capital city of Altdof.
What is your family like?
Alois' father, Rudi, was a bailiff before he became crippled in the leg by an accident involving an erratic and panicking coach-horse. He now serves as an assistant at the prison. It was his connections to the middle-class and the gentry which allowed Alois the chance to become an Agent. Alois' mother died of plague when he was young. He has two sisters, both elder than he. The eldest, Isolde, resides in one of the colleges of magic as an apprentice. Her aptitude for magic is weak at best. The other sister, Anselma, works as en entertainer in the town of Boganhafen.
What is your social class?
Alois and his family are stoically middle-class. They had a moderately comfortable upbringing thanks to the tireless work of their father. The role of an Agent pays well with the right clients.
What did you do before you became an adventurer?
Alois became an Agent at the age of 15, an early entry to the position thanks to the influences of his father. His duties have so far mostly involved errands within the relative safety of Altdorf and the surrounding towns. In his few ventures into the wild he has been accompanied by caravan guards or retainers, and thus spared much of the risk associated with adventuring. The one exception being the failed expedition with Ida Hummel, tasked to recover the wedding band from a jilted lover of a nobleman.
Why did you become an adventurer?
Alois feels it is time to stretch his legs once more and brave the life of an adventurer. He most certainly is in for a rude shock once the arrows begin to fly, and the hooves of beastmen tramp along the borders of forest and road.
How religious are you?
Alois pays lip service to the Old World Pantheon like so many others do. The gods have thus far done very little in his life besides take his mother and cripple his father.
Who are your friends and enemies?
Alois has several acquaintances. Malti and Carl are two fellow Agents he has dealt with previously and is on good terms with. Alois has also been known to frequent a tavern named The Keys and has grown quite fond of a waitress by the name of Elke. The Keys owner, Dierk Lehmann, was childhood friends with Rudi.
Alois has managed to gain the ire of a rival Agent Ida Hummel. Once partners, they had a falling out over a contract discrepancy resulting in a substantial loss of coin for the both of them. Hannes Grosz is another who thinks lowly of Alois. Hannes was betrothed to Olivia, when Alois seduced the poor girl away and stole her maidenhead. The wedding was of course called off, and Olivia left Altdorf in shame. Hannes has never forgiven Alois for this transgression.
What are your prized possessions?
Alois carries the same manacles his father did for so many years. They are a worn and beaten set of iron shackles etched with a mark for every person who has worn them.
Who are you loyal to?
Alois carries few loyalties, as his position requires him to quickly sever some and make new others at the drop of a hat. He is only loyal to the contract to which he has signed.
Who do you love/hate?
The only suitable answer to this is "Jackson"
